Damask Divas Pear & Partridge Blog Hop

Well, it is official, Christmas is near!

My name is Traci Williams and I am an Independent Consultant with Close To My Heart.  If you came from Sandra Rosario's 365 Days of Cricut, you are in the right place. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.  Be sure to sign up for the free giveaway while at the Damask Divas blog page!

I used B&T Paper's from the Pear & Partridge Workshop on the Go to create a Warmest Wish card and a table centerpiece.

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Collection to make cutouts for Warmest Wishes card and Artiste Cricut Collections to make cutouts for tree on centerpiece.

Here is the recipe for the tree:
I used 2 B&T papers from Pear & Partridge for bottom and top cones.  Then for cardstock colors I used Cranberry, Desert Sand and Colonial White colors.
Page 42 from the Artiste Collection book, you will see 3D Object.  You will use the scalloped edge cone to make this tree and here are the Height sizes:
Base: 7" with cutouts on scalloped edges.
2nd from bottom: 5.5" hide cutouts
3rd from bottom: 5" with cutouts
3rd from top: 4.5" hide cutouts
2nd from top: 3.25 with cutouts
Top: 2.5" hide cutouts.

Assemble as directed with bonding glue, do not stack yet.  To give look of garland, lights or ornaments on cones, you will want to use any color of Glitz Glitter Gel.  Go crazy or simple, either way it will be quite engaging!  You can go as high as you want with the gel.  Let dry over night before stacking.  To stack, start with bottom cone and working up, use puddy, roll into 3D dime size circles and attach to top point of bottom cone then position next cone over.  Repeat until you get all stacked.  You can also position the cones to give "topsy" look to tree.  Place on charger plate, add candles (flameless) and sprinkle plate with gem pieces and rhinestone buttons from Bling Assortment to add glowing appeal when lit up!

The next blog on the list is Stephanie Davis's The Gypsy Chic Blog. Hope you have a great time on our hop and checking out all the creations using B&T Papers Pear & Partridge. If you get lost, just hop on over to Damask Divas Blog for the full list.

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Tag Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas Tag Blog Hop.  My name is Traci Williams and I am an Independent Consultant with Close To My Heart.

We are all excited you came by our Christmas Tags blog hop.  Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Using the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Collection, I was able to make these ooohh sooo simple Christmas Gift Tags.

I used Olive and Cranberry Exclusive Inks® Pads with the coordinating My Acrylix stamp sets that come with the Art Philosophy Collection

After letting stamped images dry, I then used Glitz™ Glitter Gel to add a bit of pizazz to my tags.  Order HERE, there are 7 color choices.

Recipe:  The stamp sets give you image sizes to use with the Cricut cartridge and that is why these were ooooh sooo easy to make!! For example, on the ribbon tag, I used 3 poinsettia cutouts all same size.  For final look, just do some simple trimming, add 3D dots and glue to top of tag.

Order here so you too can showcase your "gifting" this Christmas season using the Art Philosophy Cricut Collection.

Christmas In November Blog Hop November 17, 2012

Welcome to our Christmas in November Blog Hop where we are showcasing  the exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge which can be purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant.

It's hard to believe that it's already November and that Thanksgiving is less than a week away.  And well, that means, it's almost Christmas!   We have created Christmas themed projects for you and hope to inspire you to get started on YOUR Christmas creations.

If you just happened to come to this blog, you should start at the beginning at Lucy's blog-Love 2 Create.  If you came here from Arlene's blog, Arelens Creative Space, then you're in the right place!

My project is a decoration, a Christmas Tree and very simple to create.

Pear & Partridge Paper Pack B&T Papers

Truly simple to make using Close To My Heart products: Art Philosophy Cricit Cartridge and My Reflections Pear & Partridge paper pack.

The first thing I cut was a background for the tree.  Using Art Philosophy cartridge, select Shift key only, select tree shape (tree only) and change height 8.4".  You need 4 cuts total but only 2 will fit to 1 - 12 x 12 mat.  From the Pear & Partridge paper pack, I used the Cranberry cardstock for the first cut of 2 trees and then I used 1 of the 2 Cashmere cardstock  for the last cut of the 2 trees.

For the top layer, you will use the Shift key with Basic/Icon Layer, you will see the Christmas tree with circle cutouts.  Change height to 8.40".  You also need 4 cuts total but only 2 will fit to 1 - 12 x 12 mat.  This time, I used the 2 Olive cardstock from the Pear & Partridge paper pack for all 4 cuts of the tree.

For the star, I used Pear & Partridge paper pack's B&T paper.   You will use the shift only and select the star (not pointed, curved edges).  Change height to 2.50" and you will need to cut 4 of these.  You can go down to a 2" size if you think this star is too big.

For assembly, from the 8 cuts of trees, you will make 4 trees.  Start by placing the top layer tree over the back layer tree.  Align them as if they were glued together,  and score together down the center (top of tree to base of tree).  Once tree pieces are scored, you will then glue them together.  The best method, using a spray adhesive glue, spray the back side of the top layer tree and place promptly to background tree and align them right away.  Once all are glued, you will now glue all 4 trees together, alternating the background colors.  For the star assembly, you score the center of the point down.  When you fold them together, the other 4 points should align together.  Once they are all folded and ready to glue, do not glue the bottom of the star, glue all points and center.  Once the star is glued, open the bottom enough so it fits over the top point of the tree.

For embelishment, I used Close To My Heart's Red Glue Glitz Glitter on 2 sides, let dry over night and then finish the other 2 sides and let dry over night.

This tree will stand about 10" tall when complete and what a simple decoration for a table setting, countertop or even a bathroom counter.

You have reached the final entry from the Christmas In November Blog Hop.  We all thank you for visiting.
